Event information

March 6, 2017, Buell Hall, Columbia University

This discussion extends across practices distinguished by disciplinary and cultural boundaries to explore neuroscience at the periphery of the body. From the perspective of Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, and the science of touch, we consider the physiological environments in which neurons are embedded. This context may provide new insight into chronic disease, from cancer to Alzheimer’s, by approaching illness from multiple therapeutic and experimental systems.

Moderated by Lan A. Li, Presidential Scholar in Society and Neuroscience, Columbia University.
